According to the Office for National Statistics’ new wealth and assets survey; household wealth reached a whopping £9 trillion between 2006 and 2008.
- 39% is held in property
- 39% in pension assets
- and 11% in physical goods
That means the average wealth of British households stands at £204,500, but – as with all these things – the distribution of that wealth isn’t equal. The most prosperous 20% of households hold 62% of the wealth.
